Summary:

A researcher in the field of Ecology and Environmental Science with specialization in

Freshwater Ecology. Deputy Director of Center for Ecology, Environment and Social Sciences (CREESS) and Managing editor, International Journal of Environment and Natural Sciences (IJENAS:www.ijenas.com). A strong record of expertise and accomplishment in:

1. Estimation of water quality using different standard methods (Michael, 1984; APHA,

2005).

2. Estimation of concentration of trace elements like Copper (Cu), Chromium (Cr), Iron

(Fe), Zinc (Zn), Cadmium (Cd) using standard methods (Duttagupta et al., 2004).

3. Bio monitoring of water pollution using modern techniques such as Average Score Per

Taxon (ASPT), Trophic Rate Score (TRS), Biological Monitoring Working Party (BMWP)

Scores, Stream Invertebrate Grade Number – Average Level (SIGNAL) etc.

4. Taxonomy of aquatic insects.

5. Estimation of noise pollution using Decibel meter.

6. Different techniques from social sciences to analyze man environment relationship.

7. Knowledge of different computer languages such as C, C++, JAVA, Visual Basics etc.

database  management using Oracle, Microsoft Access etc. Can freely work on different

versions of Microsoft office, Tally, DTP.

8. Knowledge of different statistical software like SPSS, BD PRO, STATISTICA, SysStat etc.

9. Training on entrepreneurship from Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship.

 Projects handled:

1. Research experience as Project fellow in a Major Research Project (MRP) funded by UGC and organized various awareness programs as a part of extension activity.

2. Worked as an organizing secretary in a registered NGO, Dolphin and Other Rare Conservation
Species Society (DOLCOS) for two years i.e. 19^th  January 2005‐ 19^th  January, 2007 and organized different campaigns  ( details available on http://dolcos.blogspot.in/2006/09/dolphin‐andother‐rare‐speices_21.html).

3. Working in People’s Science Society (PSS) as Convener of Wild life and Environment  as well as  Acharyaa Prafulla Chandra Roy Shiksha Shibir from 1st July 2012 to present.

4. Working as Faculty cum Project Coordinator in  Dept. of Natural Resource Management and Sustainability , in GBKIE, A Registered NGO.

5. Attended training programs on entrepreneurship organized by Indian institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati , Assam.
